General Data Protection Regulation requires publishers to gain consent from users for collecting and using their personal data to display interest-based ads. The law applies to users in European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland.
To comply with the regulation, you should use a third-party Consent Management Platform (CMP), to obtain consent from your users in Europe and give them an option to revoke their consent at any time.
Check out the list of IAB authorized CMPs here https://iabeurope.eu/cmp-list/
To learn how to submit user consent from your CMP to Tappx, please check Privacy section in the integration guides for your operating system.
If you don’t send user consent, our SDK will assume that the user does NOT consent by default, which may result in a lower volume of impressions, and in turn, a decrease in revenue.
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act is a regulation, passed in the United States in 1998, that requires websites and mobile apps to protect data belonging to children under the age of 13 through clear and accessible privacy policies and by requesting parental consent. This law also requires the deletion of children's personal information after a specified period of time, depending on the purpose of the processing, and prohibits impacting them with advertising.
As an app developer, by using the child-targeted content tag, you are instructing Tappx and its demand partners to take the necessary steps to have data tracking and remarketing advertising disabled when an ad request is made on child-tagged content.
You must set the child-specific content tag before you start the SDK integration.
The Global Privacy Platform (GPP) is a standardized framework that aims to reduce the number of fragmented privacy signaling technologies through one streamlined signal, provide a flexible architecture to accommodate all regional privacy and data protection standards, and minimize the cost associated with adopting new privacy and data protection signaling technologies.
The protocol developed by the IAB Tech Lab to facilitate the transmission of privacy, consent, and consumer choice signals from websites and apps to ad tech providers. It enables advertisers, publishers, and technology vendors in the digital advertising industry to comply with various regional privacy regulations more effectively.
To learn how to submit user consent from your CMP to Tappx following the GPP framework, please check Privacy section in the integration guides for your development platform.
